Wet dishes after a cycle is one of the most common dishwasher complaints — and almost always caused by one of a few simple things. The good news: it's easy to fix.
Why this happens
No rinse aid, or the dispenser is empty
Rinse aid setting is too low for your water hardness
Plastic items — they don't retain heat and dry poorly regardless
Dishwasher door opened too early before steam dissipates
Using a quick/eco cycle that skips the heated drying phase
How to fix it
1
Check your rinse aid dispenser — refill it if it's empty or low.
2
Turn up the rinse aid dosage setting (usually a dial inside the dispenser door, go up 1–2 notches).
3
Use the 'Auto' or 'Normal' cycle instead of Quick Wash — these include proper drying.
4
After the cycle ends, leave the door ajar for 5–10 minutes to let steam escape before unloading.
5
Unload the bottom rack last — any water dripping from the top rack lands there.
