Rinse Aid: Do You Actually Need It?
Short answer: yes. Rinse aid is the single most impactful product for getting dry, spot-free dishes — yet most people skip it or forget to refill it.
Why this happens
- Rinse aid reduces the surface tension of water, causing it to sheet off rather than form droplets
- Droplets dry into visible water spots — sheets of water don't
- Most all-in-one tablets include a small amount of rinse aid, but it's often insufficient
- In hard water areas, a dedicated rinse aid dispenser is essential
How to fix it
1Fill the rinse aid dispenser in your dishwasher door. It holds enough for 3–4 weeks.
2Adjust the dosage dial (inside the dispenser) to a higher setting if you're in a hard water area.
3If glasses are streaky, reduce the dose slightly.
4Refill when the indicator light comes on — don't wait until dishes start spotting again.
